Many times you are stuck on the go and unable to stick to your diet. As you know it can be very challenging to find gas station and fast food keto options. If you’re on the road and in certain parts of the country, these Sheetz keto options could be very helpful for you.
Sheetz – An Awesome Spot to Keet Your Net Carbs Low and Stay on the Ketogenic Diet
If you’ve never been to Sheetz, it’s incredible. It’s a gas station that has in-house made-to-order food items which are affectionately known as MTOs.

For people who are on the go and trying to stay keto, Sheetz is an amazing option because they offer so many low-carb / high-fat options. So actually have some options that will keep your carb count low and also will be food options you actually enjoy. While you won’t be able to enjoy the delicious Wisconsin Cheddar Bites there are many other delicious low carb options at Sheetz.
Without further adieu, let’s get into some of the best Sheetz keto options on the menu.
Sheetz Salads
At first, you may be thinking, “Gas station salad? No thanks!” Well, these aren’t your average gas station salads. You can actually order a salad made-to-order. Or if you are in a hurry you can grab one of the salads that have been pre-made. Some of their delicious keto-friendly salads include the Sheetz House Salad, California Cobb, Italian Salad and the Steak n Fryz Salad (hold the fryz).
All of these subs taste great and will keep you in ketosis. When you order an MTO salad you can load them up with cheese, extra protein and an array of toppings you are sure to enjoy. If you are looking for the most filling salad, then the California Cobb is a great option because it comes with chicken and hard-cooked eggs. Anyone on the ketogenic diet knows that hard-cooked eggs are filled with protein and help you fight off hunger until your next meal.
Lettuce Wrapped Sandwiches
These are great keto-friendly options. You can take any sandwich on their menu and instead of having bread, it will come wrapped in lettuce. They even put it in a nice tub container. This is one of the best keto options not only at Sheetz but at many different restaurants. You can load up your lettuce-wrapped sandwiches with meat and cheese, making it an incredibly keto-friendly option in a very convenient tub container. This is definitely a Sheetz keto option worth checking out.
Sheetz Breakfast Platter – Please Read Before Ordering One
While many other Sheetz keto articles include the Sheetz Breakfast Platter, we can’t suggest it as one of the keto-friendly options. The reason is, the Sheetz Breakfast Platter comes with a bread option (biscuit, waffle, muffin, etc.) and also a side dish, which are potato options. We can’t recommend this as a good keto diet option because the only keto-friendly item in the breakfast platter is the meat (bacon, sausage, chicken sausage, etc.)
Hard-Cooked Eggs
A great keto-friendly option at Sheetz is the hard-cooked eggs. You can find often them in the cooler island located near the front of the store. Any seasoned low-carb dieter knows that these are as keto-friendly as it gets with zero net carbs and a great source of protein. Consume one of these and you will be good to go until your next meal.
Pork Rinds
These are a great option for someone on the keto diet. A crunchy low-carb snack can be hard to come by and these have a zero-carb count. Not everyone likes pork rinds, but for those that do, it’s an excellent keto diet choice.
You may be surprised with some of the pork rind flavors at Sheetz. My personal favorite is the dill-flavored pork rinds.
Meat and Cheese Sticks
These are excellent keto-friendly snack to consume that will hold you over until your next meal. They are high in fat and a great source of protein. And on top of that, they have zero net carbs. You can find the meat and cheese sticks in both the refrigerated and non-refrigerated sections.
Beef Jerky
This is a great high-protein low-carb snack that you can find in the non-refrigerated section. If you are looking for an on the go snack, this is an excellent option that will help keep you in ketosis. They are loaded with protein, but be careful, you need to avoid some of the beef jerky options that are loaded with sugar because those options will knock you out of ketosis. There is always a keto-friendly jerky option, just make sure you do your due diligence before making your selection.
Sheetz Keto Coffee and Iced Coffee
Sometimes all you need is a coffee or iced coffee to get you to your next meal. You may not consider coffee as one of your keto-friendly options. After all it’s not food, but trust me on this and give it a try. Even though you may think you must eat something, coffee does a great job of curbing your appetite for an hour or two until you can get some actual food. To keep it low carb you should be careful of what you add to your coffee. Some of those flavored creamers will absolutely knock you out of ketosis because they are loaded with sugar. Black coffee is as keto-friendly as it gets and half and half is low carb enough to safely add to your coffee. For instance, a large cold brew with creamer is only 8 net carbs.
Conclusion – Sheetz Keto Options Do Exist
If you are on the keto diet and find yourself on a Sheetz run, don’t despair, there are some excellent keto-friendly options available. You just need to know where to look and what to order. With a little bit of planning, you can easily find something low-carb enough to consume without derailing your diet. So next time you are on the road and thinking about breaking ketosis, pull into a Sheetz and keep your net carbs under your daily limit while still enjoying some tasty food.
That being said, it’s very hard to pass up on those delicious Mac and Cheese bites offered at Sheetz and their Mexican-inspired dishes are delicious, but you can do it!
