Howdy, foodie! I’m here to talk about a particular menu item from my favorite fast food restaurant: Jollibee’s chicken leg. That delicious Chickenjoy. If you’ve had it before there’s a good chance your mouth is watering. Specifically, I want to share with you the Jollibee chicken leg calories.
A single chicken leg from Jollibee contains 220 calories. The thing is, most people don’t just stop at one chicken leg. I know I certainly don’t. So, if you’re like me and you tend to go for seconds (or thirds), then you can certainly rack up the calories fast.
Odds are if you’re trying to lose weight you should probably skip on Jollibee altogether. But having it once a week is no big deal. Moderation is the key!
Is Jollibee Chicken Healthy?
Even the biggest Jollibee fanboy, such as myself, will have a hard time making a case for the delicious Chickenjoy being healthy. It contains a good bit of grease and breading. That said, I still find a way to let it into my diet on a regular basis. While it is unhealthy, you can do much worse. As a wise man once said, moderation is the key!
Jollibee Spaghetti Calories
Jollibee’s spaghetti is one of my all-time favorite comfort foods. And, like the chickenleg, it’s not exactly healthy. A single serving of Jollibee spaghetti contains 420 calories. That’s a good bit of calories, but it’s not splurging too much. Now if you add on some Chickenjoy, some fries and a peach mango pie, then your diet, along with your waistline, is in serious trouble!
Jollibee Gravy Calories
Jollibee’s chicken gravy is one of the things that makes their Chickenjoy so darn delicious. But, it also adds a good bit of calories. A single serving of Jollibee chicken gravy has 60 calories. It’s important to remember the gravy isn’t going down alone. Usually you’ll have some fries or chicken to dip in the gravy.
While that doesn’t seem like a lot, it’s important to remember that most people don’t just stop at one serving. I know I certainly don’t. So, if you’re like me and you tend to go for seconds (or thirds), then the calories can really start to add up.
Rice is a staple of most Filipino diets and Jollibee is no different. A single serving of Jollibeerice has 210 calories. So, if you’re trying to lose weight, you might want to consider skipping the rice and just going for the chicken.
Jollibee Fries Calories
Jollibee’s fries are some of the best fast food fries around. They’re perfectly seasoned and have just the right amount of grease. A single serving of Jollibee fries has 220 calories.
Jollibee Peach Mango Pie Calories
Last, but certainly not least, is Jollibee’s peach mango pie. This is easily my favorite dessert from Jollibee. It’s the perfect mix of sweet and tart. A single peach mango pie from Jollibee has 430 calories. I know, I know, that’s a lot of calories, but you have to try this at least once. And remember, each bite you share with your significant other reduces the calories. Not that I’d ever do anything like that.
What Kind of Oil Does Jollibee Use?
One of the reasons Jollibee’s fried chicken is so delicious is because of the oil they use to fry it in. Jollibee uses what is known as “fully refined soybean oil.” This type of oil has a high smoke point, which means it can be heated to a higher temperature without smoking.
This type of oil is also good for your heart. It’s high in polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats, which have been shown to lower cholesterol levels.
Jollibee is one of my all-time favorite fast food restaurants. I love their chicken, spaghetti and peach mango pie. That said, I’m also aware that it’s not the healthiest place to eat. So, I try to limit myself to once a week.
If you’re trying to lose weight, you might want to consider avoiding Jollibee all together. But, if you’re like me and you just can’t say no to that delicious Chickenjoy, then moderation is the key!
