Mega Fast Food Chain Enters the Nashville Hot Chicken Market

Hardee’s stepped into the fast food Nashville hot chicken arena, releasing three new menu items on Wednesday.

Hardee’s Introduces Permanent Nashville Hot Chicken Menu Items

On Wednesday, Hardee’s unveiled its latest Nashville hot chicken items. The chain, originating from Tennessee, has added Nashville Hot Hand-Breaded Chicken Sandwiches, Nashville Hot Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders, and Nashville Hot Hand-Breaded Chicken Biscuits to its offerings. These spicy chicken selections have secured a permanent spot on Hardee’s menu and can be found at select locations.

Originating from Nashville, hot chicken is typically marinated, fried, and then coated in a sauce rich in cayenne pepper, giving it its distinctive red appearance.

“At Hardee’s, we’re all about offering the homestyle foods our guests crave. We’re expanding our famous chicken lineup with just the right amount of spice,” Hardee’s Director of Brand Marketing Mallory Jones said in a released statement. “The flavors speak for themselves.

“While there’s a nod to our Tennessee headquarters, we know guests across the country will love this new flavor,” Jones explained.

The sandwiches can be ordered both in-store and on the mobile app.

Hardee’s was founded in North Carolina in 1960 and now has 1,600 locations in 31 states.

What About the Roast Beef and Fried Chicken?

I grew up destroying the Hardee’s roast beef and fried chicken and am sure there are many others who joined me. Our location was open 24/7 and at 3 a.m. it was pure carnage of smashed college kids devouring the burgers, roast beef and of course the classic value item “Hot Ham ‘N’ Cheese.”

Here is the glorious Hardee’s roast beef sandwich in all its glory:

What About Carl’s Jr?

After a quick glance at the menu, it does not appear that Carl’s Jr. has added the Nashville hot chicken items to their menu.
